Wulatehouqi Zijin Mining Co., Ltd. Introduces Syens Dual-Furnace Infrared Carbon-Sulfur Analyzer for Efficient Detection of Total and Effective Sulfur Content in Raw Ore and Tailings

In the process of mineral resource development, the content and form of sulfur elements are critical factors affecting ore utilization and smelting processes. To enhance the carbon and sulfur detection capabilities for raw ore, tailings, and geological samples, Wulatehouqi Zijin Mining Co., Ltd. recently introduced the dual-furnace infrared carbon-sulfur analyzer developed by Sichuan Syens Instruments Co., Ltd., for precise measurement of total sulfur and effective sulfur content in samples.

Sulfur in ore samples exists in complex forms, including sulfide, sulfate, and organic sulfur. Notably, effective sulfur—referring to the sulfur forms that can participate in subsequent smelting or impact the environment—directly influences beneficiation recovery rates, environmental management costs, and the feasibility of comprehensive tailings utilization. Traditional methods often face challenges such as difficulty in separation and significant fluctuations in results when analyzing diverse sample types and sulfur forms.

The Syens dual-furnace infrared carbon-sulfur analyzer is equipped with both a high-frequency induction furnace and a resistance furnace, offering broad adaptability and flexible combustion capabilities:

  • High-Frequency Furnace: Suitable for rapid combustion of samples with high metal content, such as raw ore and enriched ore.

  • Resistance Furnace: Enables stable decomposition of complex samples like tailings and geological samples, suitable for tasks such as effective sulfur and low-content total sulfur detection.


By releasing sulfur elements through high-temperature combustion and employing infrared absorption for precise detection, the instrument achieves highly accurate, automated analysis of total and effective sulfur, ensuring scientifically reliable data with strong repeatability.
